Chris received his Juris Doctor degree from William Mitchell College of Law in 1999. He graduated from Gustavus Adolphus College in 1993 with a major in financial economics. He graduated from Forest Lake High School in 1989.

Chris served as Mayor of Forest Lake for two terms, President of the 19th District of the Minnesota State Bar Association, President of the Forest Lake Rotary Club and Board Chair of the Forest Lake Chamber of Commerce. He has been honored by his peers as a Rising Star in the legal Community.
